Role Overview:
We are seeking a Web Developer with WordPress expertise who is interested in a diverse development role. The position will initially focus on several WordPress projects, including client websites. However, this role will also involve developing a new website for our agency from scratch, providing a chance to showcase a broader range of your web development skills and proficiency with front-end technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
WordPress Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress sites, ensuring custom themes and plugins align with design specifications.
New Website Development: Plan and execute the development of a brand-new website for our agency from the ground up, utilizing cutting-edge web technologies.
Performance Optimization: Manage site performance on Kinsta hosting and implement front-end technologies to optimize web functionality.
Security and API Integration: Apply WordPress hardening techniques and integrate various APIs to extend website capabilities.
Collaboration and Process Improvement: Work closely with the principal designer to refine and enhance workflow efficiencies. Assist in creating a lean and efficient development process using project management tools like Trello.
Tool Proficiency: Use design and prototyping tools such as Figma to bring creative ideas to life in collaboration with our design team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
Currently, we are looking for senior or principal-level experience
Minimum of 8 years as a developer with a strong background in web technologies, including
At least 8 years of significant WordPress development.
At least 5 years of freelance experience and comfort in managing time and project deadlines.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js. WordPress theme and plugin development must be well-mastered.
Project Management Tools: Experience with Trello for project management and Figma for design and prototyping.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and comfort with problem-solving in innovative and efficient ways.
Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively both in team settings and independently. Experience with offline collaboration and contributing to team meetings.
Process Development: Interested in developing and optimizing workflows, focusing on creating streamlined and efficient processes.
