Red5 Migration to Hosted Media Server

Red5 Migration to Hosted Media Server

Job Description

We are utilizing for our WordPress / Buddypress website. Our server is Apache and Red5 is installed and working.

Video / voice traffic is being sent to Cometchat servers and is not reliable and usually doesn't work at all.

The chat function we are running on our server along with screenshare, whiteboard, and collaborative documents.

We are interested to move all of this traffic to a Red5 or Wowza media server that will improve the quality of the voice / video (video window size about 150x150 pixels). Note we are using Rackspace hosting and can create our own Red5 or Wowza server to manage if this is a better way.

We also want to make sure that our voice / video software is optimized for specific quality and performance standards. We know it is flash based video but perhaps we don't have the latest version or we can edit and optimize our streams and size of each stream? We also want voice / video chat on Apple and Android devices.

We have a business platform that includes a meeting room area. Although we don't have much traffic now we expect to grow quickly and have thousands of video chats happening concurrently. So we want have a solution that we can start small and grow into as our traffic grows.

Please reply with solution which includes:

1. To Host on Rackspace or Hosted Red5 / Wowza Solution
2. Whether you recommend Red5 or Wowza and why
3. Explain your solution
4. Your price to implement your solution

Please feel free to ask questions. We develop long-term developer relations on Odesk for our projects and as such we ask for professional replies only.
