Job Description

Hi all,

We have yet another project to award to the right person!!!

We need customization to a new plugin or develop a new one or use a combination of a few of them.

We want to call this News "Link" plugin.

Our first idea was to use the "link" or "activity:" plugin and modify it. If you haven't heard of it before its here http://www.radcodes.com/products/plugins/socialengine-link-plugin/ As some of you may or may not know when you post a url to a activity stream it automatically will grab and pull that page images and short description. Here's a ref as well http://www.socialengineaddons.com/socialengine-advanced-activity-feeds-wall-plugin for activity plugin.

Its the same principle being used with the "link"and "activity" plugin.

Using this idea we want to incorporate a jquery slider box example shown here http://buildinternet.com/project/mosaic/1.0/ .rather then it fetching it and posting it in a activity stream lets fetch it and put it into this jquery slider box individually. It will grab the subject, the short description and what ever images that are from the url posted, in our case this would all be news urls that are aloud to be posted in this area. we would have one our top area for featured, one middle area with side bar. Side bar on front end should have a post box like we see on the post area of the activity stream. it would show us what is being rendered and allows for us to edit it before posting. Once it is posted it would pop up as the latest news with the image attached, the short description when you hover over it, the subject would be on top of the box, underneath the box we would have our icons for comment, likes, share etc.

On the Admin side (backend) we would go to our plugin, you would see all posted url's, which user, be able to flag it featured, sponsored, or delete it.

The best example of someone doing this already is found here http://www.linkedin.com/today/ scroll down and you will see the individual slider boxes, each one being a different news article. Test it here as well..

Please let me know your thoughts, ideas, how you plan to execute this and how long it would take you to set this up and as well the complications of jquery with socialengine.
