We are buying a building with fiber optic cable but we don't know what to do with it. One idea is to start an ISP, use the fiber optic cable and build an ISP business around that. Any ideas for development? What equipment would we need to get started? What software and connectivity would be required? This could be a great opportunity to be part of a company or community for an internet start-up. (You can tell I don't know too much about the ISP end of it...)
We have about 4,000 sq feet of available office space in NW Indiana, just 30 miles SE of Chicago. Daily service on the South Shore Line makes for an easy commute. Would be willing to swap out space for a joint venture. Could also help raising funds, building a base, growing a company.
I have a Ph.D. and experience with business start-ups. Former college professor at Boston College and elsewhere.
Let me know if you are interested and what ideas you might have. Let's bring together our resources and see what we can come up with. No obligation for exploration of ideas...
