Job Description

OVERVIEW:
LocalCycle is a new social enterprise connecting local farmers directly to wholesale buyers. www.localcycle.org provides local food organizers the flexible toolkit to create, manage, and scale wholesale marketplaces with distribution points.

Local farmers and buyers can join these marketplaces and are empowered to transact directly with one another, saving both time and money.

LocalCycle was co-founded by recent Williams College (http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/williams-college-2229/rankings?int=c6b9e3) graduates, Samir Ghosh and Kaison Tanabe. The company's advisory board is composed of Williams College's senior application developer, a Harvard Business School professor of entrepreneurship, and a prominent local food organizer and farmer.

STATUS:
Due to unexpected circumstances, our head developer is unable to commit the necessary time to complete our product given our timeline. We are working together to transition to a new developer.

We have completed database structuring, and are in need of a front and back end developer. We need an experienced Ruby on Rails developer who has preferably worked with startups before and has knowledge of the requirements and challenges when developing minimum viable products.

We require you to have a firm understanding of our business model, our competitors, and a capacity to think entrepreneurially about the product. We are looking for a team member.
