Apache server migration: Softlayer - Amazon

Apache server migration: Softlayer - Amazon

Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.

Job Description

The job consists of migrating an Apache web server from Softlayer to a small EC2 Instance @ Amazon.

We'll provide access to both the current server and the new one with SSH login+passwords (both are linux).
All other details not concerning the setting up EC2 instance and the Apache Server will be taken care by us. E.g.: MySQL database, DNS servers.

There are 3 Virtual Hosts that should be migrated from
Servername: www.mercafacil.com.br
Documentroot: /home/mercafa/www/v2/mercafa_novo/public
Servername: www.pesquisasupermercado.com.br
Documentroot: /home/mercafa/public_html/
Servername: v1.mercafacil.com.br
Documentroot: /home/mercafa/public_html/v1/mercafa_novo/public
(currently the apache configuration file is at /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf)

All the files to be migrated are at /home:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda7 195G 40G 145G 22% /home

The MySQL database has been already migrated to a RDS Instance @ Amazon.

The programming language is PHP, and the main app (www.mercafacil.com.br) has been built with Zend framework.

Special attention should be paid to the images, which are currently stored directly in the webserver. All the JPG panflets combined make a total of several GB. It would be awesome to have them at S3, but it is not required for this task. Probably the easiest option will be to attach a 50-100 GB storage unit to the EC2 instance.
