We are a busy technical publisher looking for a competent technical writer with strong English language and Computer Programming skills to convert and expand our existing video courses on software, web, mobile, and game development into book format. We already have a well-practiced format in place and expect that the proper candidate will have little trouble with the content.
Please apply only if you can write well in English. We have an on-staff copy editor who will work with you to make sure the books are high quality, as well as a tech editor who will test the content. Our courses average four and a half hours of video content, have a few dozen code examples and 8-10 lab exercises, all of which are included in the book. The books average 200-250 pages.
These projects have been taking our successful technical writers two to three months to complete working approximately 20 hours per week.
If you are well-versed in technical writing, write American style, generally error-free English, and can program—we want to talk to you as soon as possible!
For consideration, please submit 1-2 sample pages clearly detailing how to do one of the following:
1) Using HTML, a text editor, and web browser, describe the steps a student would take to create a simple web page listing their name and favorite foods and then display it in their web browser.
3) Describe five techniques that the student could use to debug their program. (You may use the programming language of your choice).
