I seek a liaison between me and those who work on my web site: helmsociety.com
As of now, those who work on my web site include:
1. a designer
2. a coder
I will continue working with my designer.
I prefer to find a better coder, if this can be done more economically.
Key responsibilities I foresee include:
- Identifying problems with the site
- Identifying opportunities to improve the site
- Architecting new pages as we expand our business and site
- Integrating social
- Ensuring everything enabling the web site works, including but not limited to the host and the server. This includes making transitions (as we’ve moved from 1and1 to hostgator and may move to amazon).
Sync up with the right people
- we have a CRM with Sugar
- accounting with Quickbooks
- email marketing with StreamSend
- site in Wordpress
A few of the imminent changes I foresee include:
- enabling ecommerce (we have a processor, I have a .PDF that needs to be adapted to a web form)
- experimenting with web forms/landing pages for our email marketing campaigns

Webmaster job description element #5: Review statistics and monitor analytics. In addition to making sure everything is functioning properly on the website, a webmaster provides analysis of the website’s business health.
Typical areas of responsibility for a Webmaster include:
VI. HTML Authoring. Including an understanding of HTML 2.0, 3.2, 4, Dynamic HTML, and other extensions; e.g. tables, frames, server-push/client-pull, server-side includes, etc., as well as an appreciation for browser compatibility issues.
VII. CGI Scripting. Typically including (but not necessarily limited to) Perl, C and UNIX shell scripts.
VIII. Basic Graphic Design Capability. Able to produce attractive Web pages that are effective within the limitations of the delivery medium.
IX. Internet Awareness. A general appreciation for the issues concerning the Internet and World Wide Web (download time/bandwidth, content-driven pages, graphics vs text, browser compatibility - colors, resolution, etc).
X. General UNIX and PC (MS-Windows) Awareness.
XI. Basic TCP/IP and Networking (e.g. Service ports, Name Servers, Email, USENET, HTTP, FTP, etc).
XII. Graphic Design Skills. A knowledge of graphics applications and techniques (e.g. Photoshop, Fractal Painter, 3D Modelling) and the ability to apply these in effective ways within the constraints imposed by the nature of the Internet.
XIII. Customer Awareness. The ability to manage a relationship with a customer and work within specified requirements.
XIV. WWW Server Configuration (e.g. NCSA, CERN, Apache, Netscape Commercial Server - including NSAPI)
