Need a DBA to tune PostgreSQL 8.3 to maximize performance
We have a database server running PostgreSQL 8.3.11 on CentOS 5.
The size of our "base" directory (/var/lib/pgsql/data/base) is 24G.
We have one table with 135,741,670 records and another table with 2,940,675 records. We need to be able to query those tables quickly and efficiently, which we are not able to do now.
We need help optimizing the configuration of PostgreSQL.
I have attached the current postgresql.conf configuration file.
This is all currently run on an AWS EC2 c1.xlarge instance with an EBS volume.
We would also appreciate advice on instance sizing and EBS optimization.
