As an innovative and adaptable technical communication specialist, I am proficient in technical writing, desktop publishing, and project management. In my last job, as a member of the technical writing team at Abbott Molecular, I managed many types of documentation projects, mainly operations manuals for diagnostic instrumentation. My responsibilities included completing these documents for product launches. In order meet my deadlines, I collaborated with team leaders to set realistic expectations; acquired information from a variety of sources, including software developers, engineers and scientists; and designed the manuals to meet company standards. I photographed instrumentation and collected screen captures of software to support the instructions in an accurate, reliable and easy to follow format. Working with quality, regulatory, marketing, safety and other functional areas ensured that all criteria were met prior to the publication of the documents. After leaving Abbott at the end of 2012, I decided to begin a career as a consultant.
