I am currently working as a freelance digital publisher, editor, translator and journalist, having spent seven years working in the media, both in the UK and Denmark. This has included time at international broadsheets, specialist magazines, local newspapers, and a popular website. I have developed, written and edited a wide portfolio of print and online stories, aimed at diverse audiences, which has involved working closely with editors and graphic designers on how best to present complex issues in exciting but straight-forward ways. As well as producing fast and dynamic news stories to strict deadlines, my current role also allows me the creative freedom to do photo-journalism, research and develop complex articles and create short video segments for websites.
My interests are wide and varied; I am fascinated by finance, foreign affairs, science and the environment, sports, the internet and geek culture, and the relationship between politics, the media and peoples’ lives. I also love to travel. I would relish the opportunity to work in a position that would allow me to bring together my love of communicating ideas and experiences with my passions and interests.
I am half Danish and half English, and fluent in both languages. In addition, I have a good understanding of several other European languages and cultures. I see my dual nationality as an advantage as it gives me a fresh perspective on English approaches to publishing and an insight into how best to engage and interact with non-English people, like the Scandinavian for example.
I enjoy sharing ideas and working as part of a creative team but also have the confidence to tackle projects autonomously. I pride myself on my attention to detail, positive outlook, work-ethic, and an ability to perform well under pressure. I enjoy new challenges, learn quickly and would relish the opportunity to further develop my career with you.
