My name is Max, and I’m a full-time freelance translator/subtitler located in Perm Krai, Russia. I have over 4 years of successful home-based working under my belt, including hundreds of completed projects and a healthy fivescore of delighted clients. Wordplay junkie, fervent reader, grammar stickler, zealous wordsmith—that's who I am. Articulate, erudite and reliable, I never miss deadlines and never deliver half-baked translations. Always flawless and always on time.
I am ranked 3rd in the catalog of literary translators at free-lance.ru among hundreds, which guarantees top-notch quality of work.
On top of that, I'm proficient in subtitling and have a firm grasp of the latest technologies and software products in the field. I make all subtitles in strict conformity with the standards proposed by the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation (ESIST).
I have been admitted to a network of screened professionals in translation—ProZ.com Certified PRO Network. That means my proficiency in translation has been confirmed by the staff of the world's largest online platform for professional translators.
Over the last four years I’ve collaborated with a great number of independent and corporate clients on a wide spectrum of translation projects and none were disappointed.
As a translator, I always guarantee on-time delivery and take on only those projects that I'm 100% sure I can execute to the highest standard. I am invariably open and honest to clients about my qualification, experience and business record, and I’m only interested in healthy and lawful collaboration based on trust. I see my clients not as bosses but as partners—I help them expand to new markets, and in turn they help me financially, making our working relationship a win-win.
When working on a project, I keep my client informed on the status of the assignment by reporting the amount of work completed on a regular basis.
When translating, I use conventional dictionaries, glossaries and thesauri—KudoZ, Multitran, ABBYY Lingvo.Pro, Merriam-Webster, Oxford, Collins Cobuild etc—to ensure accuracy and consistency in my work. Because I completed the Power Searching with Google course, through which I learned advanced techniques for internet searching, I can accurately translate a text that contains rare, archaic or newly coined words and phrases not present in dictionaries. Sometimes, when a certain term’s definition or translation cannot be found via internet search queries, I directly contact an expert in the source text’s subject, and ask for an interview.
I am online 15/7, including holidays, so I’m immediately available to answer your questions and respond promptly if something happens on your end (force majeure).
When the work is done, I double-proofread my translation, perfect it, correct grammar and formatting errors, and only then hand it over to the client. So far I have received only positive reviews.
